I operate a general practice with an emphasis on children and parents as well as highly sensitive individuals and those on the introverted end of the temperamental continuum.
Children, Adolescents, and Parents
Working with young people is my area of expertise. For children I provide therapy in the context of free and/or structured play including sand tray therapy. For adolescents I offer a mix of structured play and talk therapy. For parents I provide monthly consultation related to their child’s therapy for clients 12 and under, and as needed for parents of youth 12 and older, with their expressed permission. I also work with parents, sans child therapy, for those seeking their own support and guidance.
I work with adult individuals who are seeking greater wholeness and overall wellness in their lives. Sometimes this state of being is interrupted by parenting struggles, depression or anxiety, grief and loss, neurological challenges, spiritual questions, or significant life transitions; all of which can be addressed within a professional therapeutic relationship.
Being in a relationship with a significant other is no simple task, even under the best of circumstances. It is my desire to support and nurture, if not sensibly challenge, constructs within a committed relationship such that levels of satisfaction are improved and effective communication is increased. This work can happen at any stage in a committed relationship.
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
